What's New @ The National Pain Foundation:

Seniors and Pain
Pain in older adults is an epidemic. In fact, research has shown that half of adults who live independently and three-fourths who live in a care facility suffer from persistent pain. As the population grows and ages, so will the number of people who need care and support to live comfortably. The National Pain Foundation has developed a number of articles, tips and resources to help older adults and their families. Visit our new Seniors and Pain section to learn more about living with limitations as an older adult and caring for an older adult who has pain and other medical conditions.

Pediatric Pain
Research has shown that children experience pain at a much higher level than previously thought. Studies estimate that nearly half of children ages 10 to 18 years old will suffer from a pain condition that lasts three months or longer. The articles in the National Pain Foundation's Pediatric Pain section will help you and your family learn more about pediatric pain conditions and the various ways to help manage a child's pain.
